GRWM... my nephew's wedding day...

Hey Nerds,
I had a lot of readers click on my post from December 2018 titled "Nerdy Girl goes Girly Girl".  So I'm bringing you another similar GRWM (Get Ready With Me) post this week!

My nephew and his beautiful bride got married last weekend (Congrats!).  This is the first wedding of the nieces and nephews, with more to come in the future I'm sure.  Let me take you through putting together my look, and any "beauty" treatments leading up to the day itself.  Sit back and grab a coffee because picking my dress and shoes made me feel so EXTRA (as in "girl, you're being extra annoying").  And I know some only came to scroll for the pictures.

The Outfit and Accessories
I went to the mall to look for a dress... went to The Bay, Laura Petites, and Le Chateau.  Nothing was really striking me, and the stuff that did strike me carried a $300 price tag (nope, not today).  I did come home with two dresses from The Bay (on sale), but after reconsideration, they weren't right for me. I even considered ordering a navy blue off the shoulder lace dress from Amazon, but after looking at pictures of it more critically, I wasn't sure it's what I wanted.

I looked in my closet and found a dress I may have worn one other time... I loved the color and style of the dress.  It's a blue jewel toned, one shouldered cocktail dress.  I tried it on ... and it was just perfect for what I wanted!

With the dress picked out, the next big items were shoes and purse.  I wanted to go for a gold tone.  I really wanted gold strappy heels, but it just wasn't meant to be.  I couldn't find ones that fit.  Also, I would likely only wear them once, so I also didn't want to spend a lot.  In the end, I went with black strappy heels because I can wear them multiple times with other outfits.  I did, however, stick to my idea of a gold clutch I ordered on Amazon.

Now jewelry... The dress already came with a rhinestone and silver brooch, but, like, I mentioned, I wanted to go with a gold tone accent... I needed a gold toned brooch for the dress, a necklace that was small/dainty so it wouldn't look gaudy next to the brooch, plus earrings, and a bracelet.  I had the necklace already, and bought these earring and bracelet.  Would you believe I found all the items from Joe Fresh pieces?  The brooch was bought on Amazon.

The outfit is done finally.  I'm not a high maintenance girl, for sure, but putting this together felt like such a struggle.

Hair, Skin, Nails, Teeth
One of the perks of the wedding being in September is that I have a nice healthy tan from the summer, so, no need for fake tanner.

I'm notorious for not getting regular hair cuts and my hair eventually is left looking limp and having split ends, so a fresh trim was in order.  I don't "dye" my hair on a regular basis, but, I will occasionally use Natural Instincts ammonia free semi-permanent color.  I feel it does just enough to cover grey hair (I have a few) and makes hair look shiny and healthy.  I used color 6BZ.

I did a few face masks during the week... one was charcoal for "removing impurities", and later on, a gold moisturizing mask. I wanted to see if I could whiten my teeth, so, I did 5-6 days of whitening strips.  But I didn't see too much of a difference.  I skipped the fake nails and just did a pretty pink/mauve tone on trimmed nails.  I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dry and really liked the application

The makeup... I'm so basic... I just went for a natural look.  Here's the products I used, minus the lipstick which was in my clutch and I put on as we got ready to leave the house.  I don't use this many products on a regular day... Probably 1/3 of the stuff in the picture i only pull out occasionally.

I won't link everything, but I'll list them out in the order I used them: Garnier SkinActive Ultra-Lift, NYX Pore filler, e.l.f. HD Lifting Concealer, Covergirl CG Smoothers Hydrating foundation, Millani Prep+set+go transparent face powder, e.l.f. Natural Glow face pallet, e.l.f. clay eyeshadow pallet, QUO eye shadow pallet, Annabelle Brow Fiber Gel, L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Mascara, NYX Dewy Finish.  And... you can find almost all of it just at Walmart and Shoppers Drug Mart... so, yeah, I'm not fancy enough for Sephora.

The Wedding!
The wedding was beautiful, the weather was just perfect!  The reception was at |Coopers Hawk Winery in Harrow.  Here's a few snaps of my and my family.
P.S. I didn't add pictures of the bride and groom because I didn't want to infringe on their own moment/memories, etc.
